Bandidos De Amor appear in Collateral, a Dreamworks/Paramount Film
|
As the Bandidos were getting ready to leave for their New Years Eve appearance in the Marina Del Rey Ritz Carlton Resort Hotel, they received a phone call from Dreamworks requesting a meeting that weekend.
A couple of the Bandidos went to the Dreamworks office of Michael Mann and played him several songs from their CDs. Michael kept returning to the Ven Aca Bonita mix that Larry G. had arranged the night before with an overdubbed horn section.
That was what Michael was looking for. He decided to include that song in his new movie, Collateral.
The next question was, "Are you guys available to shoot a scene with us on Tuesday?" The rest is history.
The Bandidos de Amor were joined by their long time friends and musicians Luis Villegas and Martin Flores.
Also joining them that afternoon was the group, Calexico.
During the course of the shoot, Jamie Foxx joined them for some strumming and jammin' while at the set located in the Rodeo Room in Pico Rivera, CA.
